Pyros of the Caribbean!

We've used this group before and they always amaze me! I think its one of the best fire shows in the Caribbean. Pyros performed for us last week at our Rhumblines reception in St. John - if you're friends with Island Bliss Weddings on Facebook, you may have seen my iPhone pictures of the performance. EJ of Paradise Pictures sent these over though - much better than iPhone pics!

Villa Ventana Sunsets...

I just love the sunsets at Villa Ventana. I snapped this shot over the photographer's shoulder. I so can't wait to see the pro pictures - if MY rinky dink camera could capture THIS amazing shot, imagine what the professional captured!

Last week was a crazy busy week but I captured a TON of pictures to share with you all. I will be out of the office tomorrow and most of the day on Wednesday for weddings but hope to share a ton of blog posts after that. And did you see the blog posts with the post cards, handkerchief and punch? So annoyed at Blogger for burying them...=(

Scroll down!

I didn't realize it but since I wrote the blogs on the 16th and published them later, they didn't go in order. I have three blog posts below that you may have missed because the other blog post stayed at the top!

This is a nice way to wake up!

Woke up this morning with two thank you notes in my email inbox:

From Erika:

I just wanted to send a huge thank you to you at Stuart for making our wedding so amazing! Everything turned out absolutely perfect and I couldn't have asked for anything better. It hands down, was one of those fairy tale days, where everything in the world was perfect and nothing was going to rain on our parade! Our guests were blown away. I can't even tell you how many compliments we received on how perfect the day was.

I can't wait until we can return to the island to really experience the beauty there. We will definitely be making a trip there in the near future!

Thank you again for all your hard work! The day was truly magical!

And from Perry:

We just got back into Miami and we wanted to tell you how happy we are with the process and the beautiful ceremony on the beach. Elisha was fantastic and we won't hesitate to recommend you to any of our friends. Thank you for the most memorable day and we appreciate your patience. Hopefully, we all cross paths again.

Now other than a nice cold glass of Starbucks Frapaccino (which the store was out of), my Sunday morning couldn't have been better. I love happy brides (and grooms...sorry Perry).

We have a very busy week ahead of us here at IBW but I did go ahead and write out a few blog posts that all I have to do is hit "Publish" on. Trying not to be a total slacker like I was in February and keep this blog updated! I did want to warn any current brides though, I may not be able to be on top of emails this week. I am spending two nights on St. John for weddings and while I'll have my laptop with me, I may not get around to answering emails while I'm there. Should be able to catch up next week or the following week.

Have a drink with me!

Don't you just love our new drink dispenser? I've been meaning to buy one for awhile. When we've had punch at beach side weddings in the past, I'm trying to coordinate but also run around and fill up guests' drink glasses. Now I can just set out the punch and let guests help themselves.

I put my husband in charge of finding and buying the perfect drink dispenser. He surprised me by having my logo etched on the front of it! When the dispenser is completely filled to the top, the logo disappears, it isn't visible at all. But I was able to get a picture of it once a few drinks had been poured. I just love it, I think it adds a really beautiful touch to the beach side receptions!

A little something blue.

I was shopping last week in Red Hook in one of my favorite little home stores (Home Again, they have so much stuff to look at, it could easily take over an hour to see everything). They are also one of the few distributors of Isola Bella Designs. I know I have blogged about them before as they have great gift bags, wine bottle bags, home decor, etc. (check them out at www.shop.isolabellashop.com).

Had lots of fun shopping around, but I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw this:

How gorgeous and perfect is it for a destination bride on her wedding day?? It even said "Bridal Handkerchiefs" on the sign! And they are only $10. I bought one and contemplated buying two...two little girls at home that will perhaps grow up to be brides one day...but decided against that (how many years will it be stored in my junk drawer if I wait for that to happen??). So now I'm trying to figure out what to do with the one that I bought....a blog giveaway perhaps? Any ideas?

Save The Dates!

A client of mine from Chicago (hi Amy!) asked me to send her 50 St. Thomas postcards. She plans to use these as her save the dates for her Feb. 2011 wedding. I don't particularly like picking out things for a bride, everyone has such different tastes. But when I found these, how could anyone not love them? They are so classic and beautiful.

Virgin Islands Chapter of AFWPI

It was a true honor to attend the first social mixer of the Virgin Islands Chapter of the Association for Wedding Professional International on Tuesday night. The association is open to all wedding professional in the US Virgin Islands. It was great to see so many vendors come together and...

do some serious damage to the sushi platters!

I'm proud to be a member of this growing organization and seeing what the future has in hold for it!

Mimosa anyone?

I had a lovely wedding yesterday on Lime Tree Beach (aka Bluebeard's Beach Club). We knew in advance that many of the guests did not really enjoy champagne, so we brought a bottle of OJ for guests to make mimosas. I really didn't want to bring a carton of OJ with me to an elegant wedding - something just didn't seem right about pouring from a Minute Maid jug into a champagne flute! So I brought along this beautiful Mason jar. I really like the way it presented itself!

A cookie after my own heart....

Can you tell what these are??

Seahorse cookies!! We had an absolutely GORGEOUS wedding this morning at Lindquist Beach for a lovely couple coming in on a cruise ship. Our bride is just as crazy for seahorses as I am and requested seahorse cookies instead of a wedding cake. Our bakery, VI Desserts, didn't have a seahorse cookies cutter, so I found one on eBay. Now...the eBay listing said it was 4" and I didn't really think to measure it but these things were much bigger than 4"! Closer to 6 in fact. They looked awesome and the bakery was able to do the icing in the brides wedding colors. VI Desserts can use my cookie cutter anytime, so if you like them too, don't be shy to order. They have their own starfish cookie cutter that makes a great awesome starfish cookie as well.

A big bonus of these cookies? The royal icing hardens, but isn't hard, if that makes sense. Very, very little mess involved - virtually none at all.

Congrats Cliff & Sarah! I hope you sail off into the sunset on the Ruby Princess with fond memories of St. Thomas!

Congratulations Kenny & Jackie!

Kenny & Jackie were married yesterday on Lindquist Beach. They were our one of two guests bloggers that we had back in October! I had SO MUCH fun at their wedding yesterday, I felt like one of the guests. They are a super cool couple (and avid blog readers) all the way from Scotland. Kenny looked so handsome in his kilt!

If you click on the hyperlink above, you can read about Jackie's idea of incorporating the Scottish thisle into her bouquet. She brought the flowers with her. They came out gorgeous!

And you know what the coolest thing about Kenny & Jackie is? Other than their adorable accent? How nice they are! They brought me an awesome gift all the way from Scotland. This is a Scottish Friendship Cup, also known as a Quaich. Next time they come to St. Thomas, they are going to drink whiskey out of it with me! =)

And can you find my favorite part?

The thistle!!
