You decide....

We had some uninvited guests for our wedding on Hawksnest Beach on Wednesday.

Which would you rather ride to your wedding in/on?? The Bliss-mobile (as my husband likes to call it) or a pack of donkeys??

The donkeys would make for better photos though.

Happy Anniversary Baby!

Five blissful years of happiness with my wonderful husband! We were married 5 years ago, on May 28th, 2005. Pictures by Paradise Pictures, ceremony & reception at Oceana. I can't believe we are already at five years! Two beautiful kids later, a wonderful wedding business, life just couldn't be better!

I had just gotten into the wedding planner business when our wedding unfolded and going back to look through the pictures, I had to cringe here and there! I can't even begin to tell you how many countless weddings I have been to in the last five years and how many AMAZING things I have seen brides do. Looking at my photos, I realize just how much of an amateur I was!! I see soooooooo many things that I would have done differently or wish I had put more thought in to. But in the end, none of that matters. What matters most is the marriage, the person you look in the eye and say, "I do" to. I couldn't ask for a more supportive partner in life. I'm more amazed at how much he can love me, even after all these years! Thank you love, for being my best friend and number one fan (you are a fan of mine on Facebook, no??). =)
I love and can't wait for the next five, and the five after that and the five after that and....

Whirlwind!

This week has been BANANAS! Seriously NUTS! So sorry for the lack of blog posts but this has been our busiest wedding season to date - I love it! I'm much rather be busy than bored.

I know that there are some of you out there waiting for an email, just wanted to let you know we plan to catch up with all our emails after the weekend. But check back to the blog on Friday for a little surprise! =)

Water Island Wedding!

Nicole and Pat were married on Water Island on April 21st. I was so bummed to miss it, I had a wedding to coordinate on St. John that evening, so I sent two assistant wedding coordinators and Stuart to officiate and oversee everything. Nicole shared with me her "teaser slideshow" from her photographer, the talented Quiana L. Duncan. Please take a look and enjoy in their special day! I wish I could have been there to see it myself, I love all the special touches they brought together.

Nicole and Pat Sneak Peek!

Pay close attention to the grooms cake - is it not the coolest thing ever???

Changing my mind about runners...

I normally do NOT like runners on a beach AT ALL. Most runners are made for a church wedding and are not very wide - just to go down the center of an aisle, not all the way to the edge. So when put on the beach, this is barely enough room for the bride and her escort, so it makes it very awkward to walk on. Not to mention, it is now on a soft surface (sand) and not a solid surface so they wrinkle up horribly. But, my mind just may be changed when it comes to burlap runners. Wide, strong, and very natural looking on a beach setting....check out the photos from a wedding we did last week at Lindquist Beach:

It held up beautifully as our bride and her father made it down the aisle:

More fun with rum!

As promised...

Cruzan Rum is locally made here in the Virgin Islands, which makes it a perfect "local favor". It comes in many different flavors (my favorite is the coconut flavor - mix it with Coke and it tastes like a suntan!).

Jenny & Eric were married last night on Magen's Bay

They then moved to Villa Botanica for their reception

It's one of my all time favorite venues!

But you're here to read about fun with rum...so let me get to that point. Jenny & Eric brought with them three different types of shot glasses as favors for their guests. A shot glass was placed at each table setting, along with a miniature bottle of Cruzan Rum with the guests name attached - a favor AND a placecard, you know how much I love that!

Their colors were bright pink, orange and green. All the shot glasses were green, and the table clothes were a mix of orange and pink. I just love this shot here...nothing better than "Grandma" on top of a bottle of rum!

Spicy Favors!

Heading to bed after an awesome welcome party at Iggies tonight, but was just going through some pictures from last week and wanted to share this favor that our bride gave out to her guests. This was from our Rhumblines wedding on St. John. Look how cute these little straw bags are:

And inside? A bag of St. John Spice (you HAVE to visit their shop in Wharfside Village, the smell in there is intoxicating!) and a mini bottle of Cruzan rum! Perfect Virgin Islands wedding favors!

And speaking of Cruzan rum, stay tuned to see what my bride for tomorrow has in store for her guests. Another unique and fun idea!
