Congrats Anthony & Molly!

This couple was so much fun! They don't have their pro pictures back yet but Molly sent me some photos given to her by her friends and family...and what a good job they did!

Just as the group arrives at Sapphire Beach Resort for their ceremony on Pretty Klip Point, their hotel called me and said that the transportation had left the mother-of-the-groom behind. Ut oh...I knew the bride was about to be picked up so I called her driver who stated he wasn't sure how it was possible that they left the mother behind, as the groom was the one that did the headcount and said everyone was all there. We got transport for his mom and she was soon on her way but first, I went up to the groom and very casually said....so, um...is your mom here? And he's like of course, and starts looking around to see where she is...I say, um, no you left her at the hotel! His groomsmen got a good laugh!

Mom made it in plenty of time to witness a very beautiful ceremony...

Excited to walk down the aisle!

I think the look on her face says, "hey look, there's your mom!"

We did it!

Congrats Molly & Anthony - you two were a pleasure to work with! Please let me know if you ever surprised your guests with that flying shark!

Congrats Kim & Tyler!

Kim and Tyler were married on May 8th on St. Thomas. They stayed at the Sugar Bay Resort and had their ceremony on Lindquist Beach. Kim hired Simple Island Photos for her photography and had an hour of photos at the hotel before going to the courthouse and then on to the ceremony, where the photographer met them for the 2nd hour.

The CD you receive from Simple Island Photos allows you to make your own edits (it includes light editing) so that you can manipulate the photos as you like. Kim did just that! I love what she did to them!

I could just see this one blown up on a panoramic canvas print!

The hot color for 2013

I often have friends ask me "so what's the hot new things for weddings this year?" - you know, all my old married friends that are knee deep in diapers and what seems like centuries away from our wedding days! It's interesting to watch the trends over the years. When I was married, pink & green were really popular, then it was pink & orange...now its coral, coral and more coral! I got an email from Old Navy this morning with the "coral report" and instantly thought these could make inexpensive bridesmaid dresses:

A quick trip over to Pinterest and you can see board after board of coral insprirations:

Definitely check out our Pinterest pages for more ideas to "coralize" your wedding!

&

I just got this in the mail last week and was going to wait until it was used in an actual wedding but it has been sitting on my desk since it arrived begging to be blogged. I purchased this for our rental collection to either be used as a photo prop or for ceremony or reception decor. This little baby is 24" tall!

It's so cute. I think a photo of the bride & groom sitting on the beach with the sign in between them would be adorable.

Deep love of coral...

Remember that new aisle decor I told you about? Well I don't have pictures of it in use as aisle decor quite yet. A bride of mine had sent down some elements for her centerpieces to be used at her Sand Dollar Estate wedding in St. Thomas. We were discussing back and forth flowers, no flowers, adding driftwood to the tables, etc...and I mentioned that I had just ordered some resin coral pieces and if they came in I'd be happy to let her borrow them. Mainly I was curious to see how they would work on tables and you know what? They looked awesome!

Look for a blog post soon on these little babies used as aisle decor.  And one last picture to show you her idea on the chair ties:

A very meaningful bouquet...

As promised, I wanted to share with you the bride's bouquet from Saturday night. The brooch bouquet is not a new concept to me, but how she came about her bouquet is definitely different than what I've seen before. For her bridal shower back home, the hostess had asked all the guests to bring a brooch to give to the bride. It could be new, borrowed, old, blue, etc. The collection of brooches she received was really amazing. Some belonged to her grandmother, some to a deceased cousin...they all had a very special meaning.

A little something blue....

A little Irish shamrock for luck...

When I saw the bouquet I thought perhaps she didn't want our little seahorse on there, so I gave it directly to her instead of pinning it on the bouquet. But I was wrong, in fact, they even had a special place reserved for it!

Really, just beautiful....
