It caught on and on and on...
I just love this video that a client shared with me, highlighting her engagement! The happy couple sent the video out along with their Save The Date information and have a WHOPPING 100 guests coming with them on their wedding cruise. If you don't know already, 100 guests cruising with you for your wedding is IMPRESSIVE! At most, we normally have 30, no more than 40 guests when it comes to a cruise ship wedding. 100 is A LOT.
We're really looking forward to your wedding day next month - I know this crowd knows how to PARTY (the groom is a fireman and I think he's bringing his whole department with him....let's hope for no fires the first two weeks of December!!!).

A taste of Morocco...
I'm 100% impressed with the work this bride put into the details of her wedding day. Guests were coming up to me left and right, complementing me on what a wonderful job I did and each time I had to tell them that all the credit went to the bride - all I did was put it together for her. Lindquist Beach lent itself well to this very Moroccan influenced event.
One of my favorite aspects of the day was the guest book...each page was dedicated to a guests with a slot for a photo of them and a section for them to fill in a wedding wish for the couple. This scrapebook of a guest book will be such a wonderful keepsake of their wedding day...
But you all know how I feel about wedding favors...LOVE THEM. And after the ceremony, everyone was taken to a sailboat for lunch & snorkeling...so, what better favor could there be than a beach towel?? And just look at the details our bride put into the favors...a beautiful gift tag with starfish pendant. Just beautiful...
Congratulations J&J - I wish you many happy and wonderful years together!

Best man or maid of honor?
Considering the flowers in its head, I'm going with maid of honor!
This lovely couple came in off the NCL Norwegian Dawn on Tuesday - just a nice simple, easy ceremony. We took them up to the overlooks to snap a few photos for them. "Monica" the donkey was up there to pose for photos with tourist - I just love these kind of shots - so quirky and unexpected! Not sure if this is one that you frame on the mantle though...=)Do you like what I've done with the photo in editing? Kind of washing it out and enhancing the colors? I love doing that sort of thing but I know it's not everyone's style...what do you think?

"Wave" of Love...
I am so behind on my blogging - I've had some absolutely beautiful weddings this week that I am so excited to share. But, it's getting late and I'm getting way too tired. For now, I'm just going to post this picture from my wedding this morning - look at that wave in the background!!
I will definitely be posting a lot more photos of this wedding. The bride added so many personal touches, I love that. And I can not wait to share with you a photo of my bride from earlier this week. Her. Dress. Was. Killer. Totally my style. Don't get me wrong...all of my brides are beautiful in their dresses (case in point, check out the bride in the photo above - GORGEOUS!) but...this particular dress was exactly what I would wear if I could ever talk my husband into a vow renewal. Loved it. So check back in the next few days, I won't keep in you the dark for long. =)

Save The Dates!
I'm so glad etsy.com wasn't around when I was planning my wedding in 2005. I'm so addicted to buying things there for my two young daughters, I can't even imagine how much stuff I would have bought for my wedding! Out of curiosity today, I jumped over to the wedding section and typed in BEACH. Found these Save the Dates and fell in love!

They are by beyonddesign. She also has these awesome invitations (you'll have to go to her site to see the larger version!).

Election Day Celebration!
If you are already married, I encourage you to get out your wedding day toasting flutes and fill them with the finest champagne tonight - if your guy wins that is. If not, fill it with cheap beer!
If you are not yet married, let me use today's blog entry to showcase a few fun destination wedding flutes! A good friend of mine on St. Thomas owns the Hand painted Shoppe. She and her staff make beautiful gifts including holiday ornaments, dream catchers, t-shirts and a plethora of dishes, plates, etc. Of course, my favorite are her hand painted champagne flutes which I offer to brides & grooms. She can paint them with a variety of orchids, birds of paradise, bougainvillea, etc. She also does a playful underwater scene with bright tropical fish and a beautiful meadow scene with dragonflies. For fun, of one my brides had her paint two iguanas (which run rampant on the island). Here are a few examples below. She even adds the couples names, date and location of ceremony.

You can order these directly at 340-715-4024 or you can order them through me. We need at least three weeks notice to get them in time for your wedding.
Now...don't forget to go out and vote!

Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween from Island Bliss Weddings! Having two small children of my own, this week has been full of dressing up and getting ready for the big day tomorrow. I couldn't help but think of a Halloween wedding I saw on the TLC Network a few years ago. The bride's father was dressed as the Phantom of the Opera (appropriate, as he was able to wear a tux!) and the groom was dressed like Dracula and the bride...well, she was a princess of course! All the guests were asked to come in costume...it looked like it was such a blast! I doubt I'll ever have the chance to help plan a Halloween wedding, being that we're pretty pigeon-holed as a Destination Wedding spot! But if I ever have a bride who chooses to have her ceremony on Halloween (which is all together possible if a ship comes in to port on Halloween Day), I'm going to have to strongly encourage her to celebrate the holiday in some small way or the other. What do you think about this amazing cake I found on pinkcakebox.com? I just love it!

Yummy Alternative
Mmmmm...our bride & groom on Saturday chose to have delicious chocolate covered strawberries from VI Desserts at their ceremony instead of a traditional wedding cake. Since their wedding was on Magen's Bay, it was really nice to have a sweet treat that guests could pick up and eat like an appetizer instead of balancing a slice of wedding cake on their plate. And what's better than champagne & strawberries??
I'm not one to discourage anyone from cake though (it's my favorite!). This particular bride had us deliver two cakes to her ship so that everyone could enjoy cake at dinner that night on the ship. You definitely want to make sure this is ok with your cruiseline though.
