Goodbye 12/12/12! And two crazy weeks on top of that...

I realized today that my last blog post was on the 2nd. Oops! The last two weeks have been crazy busy around here - we have had weddings every day since November 30th! I actually have the next five days off and plan to get caught up on blogs, emails and getting my January in order so that I can enjoy the holiday season once my kiddos get out of school next Friday. It's such a magical time of year - definitely one of my favorites. I'm working from home this morning and as I look out over the ocean and the cloudy skies, it almost looks like winter! We've had a lot of rain showers this morning and if you squint, it almost looks like it's snowing. I'm thankful for some time off to get caught up and even MORE thankful that the rain held off until today and we were able to get through 12/12/12 with no showers!

I didn't really have anything planned to blog about today but I do have some ideas in mind for future posts. I want to start a "Helpful Hints" series that will go over various topics that I think will help brides through the sometimes stressful process of wedding planning. I'm hoping to get that started next week. For today though, I'll share some photos of some recent weddings:

Still one of my favorite set-ups: blue mason jars with flowers, bamboo chairs....

Not all of our weddings are at the beach. This wedding was at the Dutch Reformed Church which was all decked out for Christmas:

And on the deck of Sand Dollar Estates:

But lots of beach weddings of course! An afternoon ceremony at Maho Beach, St. John (the officiate is looking off at a ship in the distance that blew a conch shell when the bride & groom were pronounced husband and wife!)

More to come over the next five days!

Congrats Sammi & Andy!

Sammi & Andy arrived on a Royal Caribbean Cruise and hosted their ceremony and reception at Secret Harbor Beach Resort with a reception following at Cruzan Beach Club just a few steps away. Today is their one month anniversary - Happy Anniversary Sammi & Andy! I absolutely love your pictures from Megan Biggs Photography:

More photos to share!

Just a reminder that I am off island will have limited email access over the weekend. I will return to St. Thomas (and a normal schedule - yay!) on Monday.

Thanks to Jennifer & Owen for sharing their wedding photos with me! Their ceremony & reception was held at Secret Harbor Beach Resort this past summer. Paradise Pictures provided professional photography.

Our coral centerpieces looked great with the blue orchids.

Love their cake from Island Sweet Stuff!

Large bamboo arch, bamboo runner, conch shells and greenery....very pretty!

If you have wedding photos you'd like to feature on the blog, please let me know - I know future brides love seeing what past brides have enjoyed!

A lovely little ceremony at Secret Harbor...

I coordinated a wedding yesterday for Kathleen and Eddy and woke up this morning (first to see who won the presidency!) and second, to find these amazing photos in my email from Blue Glass Photography. The photos are so beautiful but what I love most about them is you can really see the love in Kathleen and Eddy's eyes. Kathleen is one of those people that you meet and are instantly friends with her - she is nothing but sweetness and kindness and I'm so happy for her. You can tell she and Eddy will have a long and happy life together!

I cannot get over how beautiful this water is! Blue Glass has a magical touch for bringing out all the details of the waters. It's almost like you could find the fish swimming around!

Congrats Kathleen & Eddy - you two were so much fun to work with!

Secret Harbour Weddings!

Do you write it Harbor or Harbour? I never know and you'll probably find I use both in my emails, depending on how fancy I feel. Harbour is definitely fancier, don't you agree?

Secret Harbour Beach Resort is our newest location, not only for ceremonies, but for receptions as well. It's a great location for a sunset ceremony. The site fee is $100 unless of course you prefer the sunset...then the fee is $250. We book the location with the hotel and there are two great choices on the beach - a smaller location for smaller ceremonies (perfect for small groups) and a larger location for bigger set ups (chairs, arches, etc.). When we book the site, we let them know what time we will arrive to set up and they will clear out that section of the beach (remove beach chairs & tourists!).

This location is also a great choice for those looking for "one stop". Whether you are coming in from a cruise ship and looking for a spot to host a luncheon for your guests or you are looking to buy out a restaurant for dinner & dancing after your sunset vows, Sunset Grille has it all. There is an outdoor deck complete with ocean view and palm trees, a semi-private dining room with beautiful white curtains and even an air conditioned wine room for a completely tailored event.

And they have a great beach bar to grab some pre-dinner cocktails.

Check out more photos on our Shutterfly site or visit their websites at Secret Harbour or Sunset Grille.

Island Bliss Weddings can help you with booking the ceremony, restaurant and rooms at the hotel - how's that for one stop shopping??
