Chalkboards are HUGE this year. They are quaint, adorable, nostalgic...and so useful. Here are a few pinterest inspirations:
I have a lot of brides asking me if I have any chalkboard signs for them to rent. It's a lot easier to rent then it is to ship, especially if you are in need of a large chalkboard. In fact, I have a lot of items that we rent out and plan to make a "rent-able album" in our photo albums this month. I will take a picture of all our chalkboard signs and include them in this album.
A lot of these signs I have purchased but a bride recently asked me about a chalkboard sign that would be big enough for her to write her menu on and display at the reception. I knew I didn't have anything that big and I looked around a little online. You know what stinks about online shopping? The cost of shipping. So the creativity bug in me got moving and I headed to Home Depot (yes, we have one here!) and picked up this 24x24 board, primer and chalk board paint!
First I primed.
Then I painted.
Then I conditioned with chalk.
And it came out great! And cost very little to make! I was very proud of myself (patting myself on the back right now).
As soon as I have the rent-able album ready, I'll be sure to post a link on our Facebook page and announce it here on the blog.
In the meantime, don't forgot to enter our October Giveaway - up to three great prizes now!

Another giveaway addition...
I spent all day on Thursday (10/11/12) on St. John for wedding, but had a break in between our morning wedding and our afternoon weddings so I did a little shopping. I love the Friend of Virgin Islands National Park store - they have adorable stuffed animals of some local creatures, great t-shirts and unique locally made art. I chuckled when I saw this bookmark though...made of local Donkey Doo! And what better addition to the book giveaway than a bookmark?!

Leslie & Jamie aren't exactly an October bride & groom, but they had a beautiful wedding nonetheless! Married at sunset on Trunk Bay...enjoy the sneak peek to your photos!

Congrats to Krystal & Jamie - what a wedding!
Krystal had been planning for months to surprise her groom with an over top "Bachelor" style wedding. Krystal asked me if I ever saw the mega dates on The Bachelor - she wanted something grand! And her idea of the seaplane was definitely something awesome!
The plane touching down in the water:
I'm wondering if the groom was thinking, "did they really have to land that plane now, while we're trying to take pictures?!"
But I bet he was so excited to see it was for him!
Taking off for their tour:
Thank you to Seaborne Airplanes for this amazing service! And thank you to Alain of Blue Glass Photography for taking these beautiful images! Stuart Scott officiated and HiDef Video took video, which I can't wait to see!

Lovely Stationary
I've always been a fan of stationary. My best friend from high school and I were always giving each other cards and our first year of college (she at college, I in Amsterdam) we always wrote letters instead of email (yes, it was around, but we preferred handwritten letters!).
When my sister-in-law went over to college this fall, I searched on etsy (yes, I have an addition) for a graduation gift and came across the most perfect card ever from the ReimaginedPast
This old queen of hearts was toting a pennant for her new school! I immediately bought it and added it to her gift and she absolutely loved it.
Along with the card though, the seller noticed I was a wedding planner and checked out the Island Bliss Weddings website. She very thoughtfully sent me a thank you card and an additional card with my seahorse theme!
A classic seahorse design with lovely beaded embellishments. Thank you Nancy for such a sweet surprise and offering cards that make loved ones smile!

Thank you Ryan & Stacey!
I received the best package in the mail yesterday!! Stacey & Ryan were married last October in St. Thomas right around Halloween. Stacey knew my love of the holidays, especially Halloween (it is the official kick off to the holiday season!) and she sent me this amazing wedding/Halloween decoration for my office!
You can add a candle inside the cake for an spooky glow
Congratulations NEWLYDEADS! Ha! I love it! Thank you Ryan & Stacey and Happy 1 Year Anniversary to you!
But you know, this gift got me thinking and I went to etsy and typed in "Halloween wedding". Here are a few of my favorites:
The perfect mix of fall elegance with spooky details by mysweetn0vember
Why not go all out with the creepy details (just make sure your flower girl is ok with spiders!)...by IDoDoodads
If you don't want to totally embrace the holiday, why not add just a small touch. By Parisxox
Now if I search on Halloween cake topper, I'm really in heaven! Too many I loved to show, but this was one of my faves! By sparkleandtwig
I say it every year...I can't wait for a destination bride that wants to forgo palm trees for pumpkins! I'm not going to hold my breath though....
